Back to School: Working on Multiple Projects

September 5, 2012

School is back and we all are getting used to our new routines. I am excited about the new school year. The kids are happy and you can’t beat that.

I am adjusting to my new work routine, I am enjoying it, working on my client’s website projects and getting organized.  For those of you who don’t know me, I do web design for small businesses. I also plan to spend some time working on my new website project, d-monkeyshop.com. Balancing client’s work and my own projects is not easy, but I am really looking forward to making it work.

My website d-monkeyshop.com is up and running while I am still making some changes that need to be completed through the entire site. At times it is a little frustrating, as it seems that work on the website is never finished and more changes need to be done. I realize that that’s the way it is with most projects.  As small business owners, we should always be looking at our websites and making small changes and adjustments, making sure we are testing and reviewing the website after the changes are done. It’s the only way to know if we are moving in the right direction.

As I reflect on this, I can see the importance of dedicating time to work on my own website projects and not only on my client’s projects. Working on my own projects, allows me to test ideas, try new things, and last but not least, it allows me to be in my client’s shoes and experience first hand the ups and downs of internet marketing and website design.

During the last few weeks I have not had time to draw new monkeys to add to d-monkeyshop.com collection, but my ideas of future monkeys continue to grow. I am looking forward to getting back to drawing and I will soon be sharing with you my new designs!
